My Domi Sleeper Fit

I am happy to report I am back online and scanning like crazy to find my next W-space home.

In response to many requests to post my Domi Sleeper fit. Remember, I am solo+alt...

As mentioned frequently, I use a Domi as a Shield Repper + Drone DPS along side of my Alt's Drake or Raven for Sleeper sites. I swap out drones as needed - Ogre II's (for Sleeper BS) and Hornet II's (for Cruisers/Frigates). I had previously added a target painter and vampire mods, but found that the Gauss Guns added more DPS and is my current preference.

I know I am mixing here (Shield Tank + Armor Tank), but it is what I have used for some time and the Main + Alt combo has covered me well through Class 3 sites with relative ease.

Cap stable when not being primaried and I rarely have to rep the alt's shields, and as such I rarely if ever run out of cap.

Here is the Domi fit:

  2. if you fly a raven + domi then you should have 1 Large Remote Energy Transfer Array II on each ship and the respective Large Remote Armor Rep / Large Shield Transfer Array.

The Energy transfer cycle will net more cap for both ships, and that means you can remove a cap recharger and put a Target Painter on each ship that will greatly increase your DPS.

    Welcome back!

  3. Thanks for the advice Quiv - I will EFT and evaluate.

Saw your post on moving on to a C6 adventure - best of luck there! Reminds me of when I sold off my Small POS setup and W-space when I moved to a Medium POS. Looking forward to hearing about the C6 world. From what I have toured, C6's are still mostly unoccupied...

  4. i like the domi setup but you ever think about useing sentry drones?
i do this for a lot of resons:
    1. they stay close to you (unless you move around a lot which is a downside) so you can draw them back in very quickly
    2. they have better tank than heavy drones
    3. they do instant damage to target at range (no waiting for drones to arive at target)

i use a combo of gardes, wardens and hobgoblins
the gardes hit crusers/battleships between 20-40KM, the wardens crusers/battleships between 40-90KM and the hobs go for figates at any range
Drone Link Augmentor is a must (2 is nice for the 60KM+ ranges)
i have soloed a class 3 in a domi setup with sentry drones (quickly as well) and i only lost the one drone (it was a hob)

    at anyrate
i really enjoy reading your blog and seeing the museings of someone with such a open mind on eve life

  5. Zama - I have considered, but to date, I like keeping my ships moving at specific angles respective to the sleepers to reduce damage via the highest possible transversal speed. With me moving at top speed, I would leave the sentries behind. Sitting there stationary you are effectively taking 100% of the DPS that could otherwise be reduced if you considered transversal.

Good quote: "Transversal speeds are irrelevant to missiles, however staying in motion and trying to be perpendicular to your target's ship to maximize transversal will minimize the amount of damage coming to your ship."

  6. I meant to ask about sentries as well. A lot of people confirm that they are very effective in missions, and even though you are taking more damage by not moving, you also kill much faster, so there is no need for you to tank long. Try it...

  7. how do you deal with sleepers switching aggro to drones?

i havent really played since wormhole were released but when i tried in an ishtar i lost too many drones to make it viable.

  8. I use Light T2 Drones on both Main and Alt until the Emergent Frigates are cleared, then switch out Main for Heavy T2s for Awakened BC and Sleeper BS's. You just have to keep a constant vigil and recall them if they begin to take damage. That, and train up your Drone skills, including Durability.

  9. Sentries are great. For those concerned about losing expensive sentries, the trick is to keep an eye on the damage and recall them when their shields get low - return them to drone bay and relaunch and re-engage immediately. This breaks the lock and forces the aggressor to switch to either your domi or (hopefully) another drone, during which time the original drone's shields recharge as it shoots. Rinse and repeat.
