Average Frontier Deposit

The Average Frontier Deposit is so vast that you can actually warp between Roids!

Continuing on the evaluation of W-space Grav sites, here was the inventory analysis on another type of Class 2 W-space site, the Average Frontier Deposit. I just had 1 of these in my adjoining C2. Based on the comparison with the Unexceptional Frontier Deposit site, this site would yield quite a bit more ISK, netting out to be roughly 569M ISK of raw ores, and about the same in refined minerals (assumes 100% refine).

NOTE: This is specific to my current Class 2 Average Frontier Deposit site, so results may vary. This is also a snapshot in time on Jita prices, which are obviously subject to change.

Here is a look at the counts by ore type, their respective yields, and their cargo requirements:

Note that the Plagioclase and Veldspar amounts are estimated - the damn site was so vast it would have taken an hour to scan them all. All the rest were explicitly captured on the survey scanner.

Please refer to the prior post on the logistics issues relating to W-space mining.

  1. Just found this same grav site in my WH last night. Looking foward to seeing if we can empty it. Found it in a C3.

  2. MM aye, had not the logistics been a bitch WH´s would be very profitable to mine in..

Well more then now, can a Rorq be good for this? Dont know the size of that thing if it fits :)

  3. Yargok - yeah, there have been a few comment threads on this - two main points being made:

    1) Rorqual is really the only feasible scalable method to get these amount of ore into K-space for 100% refining. It can be built in-system or piloted in, however, only a few WH types have a large enough max jumpable mass to allow a Rorqual (1.18 Billion). Use the wormhole tool to evaluate the specs on the WH, specifically the "Max Jumpable Mass".

Note: compressed ore CAN be transferred to Industrials/other transport ships for hauling.

    2) Most W-space miners are using the Medium or Standard intensive refining arrays and just writing off the 25% refining loss. From there, you can transport out in Itty's.

  4. My corp uses a intensive refining array and I have an alt that gets regular 100% in stations with refining and thus the 75% from the array. Really there is no way around it, you'll still make a killing and even though a rorqual seems nice, once it is in there it is stuck especially in a class 2 (also need the skills for it =/ ). From the amount of ore that my miners bring in, the 25% loss is fine by me since we still make a killing off of the 75%.

  5. Star,

Our first Wormhole was a Class 2 and we set up just a small POS with loads of ECM. We mined a the ABC of every grav site and either jumped it out as we mined (static High Sec) or just stored it at the Corp Hanger until we got a Wormhole in Caldari Space, then would jump in the orca a few times. Either way was a logistical nightmare.

For our next endevour we will be using a refining array and keeping some ABC for when we get a high sec inbound or transient outbound hole. We will then Orca jump out a few loads of the very high end ores to "preserve" the 25% we would usually lose.

  6. Oh and as for the Rorqual, I think it is limited to jumping into Class 5 and 6 W-space due to size. Of course it can be built in any w-space but then would be "stuck" in that space.

  7. I can chime in here and confirm that the Average Frontier Deposit in my Class 4 has identical quantities or ore.
